I think I was the only one from 19 selected artisrts that had a comic theme in the installation. Virginia Beach needed to lighten up and embrace comics.

For several years the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey asked me to donate art to benefit art programming. Ironically, the Cultural Center of Virginia Beach, frowned upon my proposal to donate works to raise money for the center. They rejected my proposal for an exhibition as well. And 6 months later, they have not followed up as I was told. Virginia MOCA is no more welcoming. They rejected the very works that have won National and International Juried art competitions, juried by people of high art world credentials, like the Director of Harvard Art Museums. I must wonder, how my works can win prestigious awards, on national and international levels, yet be rejected in a small local show reason.

Fun Designs that prompt a chuckle is good for the soul. I had discussed the design with Norfolk, but they never got back, and ended up using a boring graphic. Of course, over the years the ink bled, but easy to fix.
